Sundance Vacations Recipes: Tennessee Whiskey Barbecue Sauce

Summertime, the perfect time of year to get outside, fire up the grill and do some cooking!

Studies show that nearly 80 percent of Americans own a grill or smoker and 97 percent of grill owners actually used their grill in the past year.  With major cookout holidays like Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day all falling in the “summer weather” months, it’s easy to see why grilling becomes such a big deal when the weather gets nice.

Barbecuing has long be a way of adding amazing flavor to any meat of your choice.  Depending on the region that you live in, or the person that you talk to, barbecue can take on a number of different variations.  Some people use dry rubs while others use homemade sauces to add flavor to their summer dishes.  Despite there being a number of different takes on barbecuing, one thing generally remains the same, the fact that it is delicious!

When Sundance Vacations wanted to think of a great place that could inspire an amazing barbecue sauce, our minds instantly ran to Tennessee.  Currently, Sundance Vacations has destinations in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, which is nestled in the Great Smoky Mountains area of the state.

Tennessee is also known for it’s Bourbon Whiskey.  The state is home to the Jack Daniel’s distillery, located in Lynchburg, Tn., which is the highest selling American Whiskey around the world.  So when deciding on what the Sundance Vacations Barbecue Sauce would be like, we figured, why not intertwine all the amazing things Tennessee is good at together into one amazing sauce!?  The result is our Sundance Vacations Tennessee Whiskey Barbecue Sauce!  The recipe will produce four cups of the sauce for you to use on any of your favorite meats.  Total prep time is around 45 minutes, if you decide to try it out, let us know how it comes out!
