The Frogtown Chophouse
To bring the perfect day to a close, why not stop by The Frogtown Chophouse? Conveniently located inside Woodfield Manor, this steakhouse is the perfect place to relax and unwind with a nice warm meal after a chilly day spent outside. With an expansive menu featuring seafood, salads, and succulent steaks, you’ll never run out of tasty options. Cozy up by the fireplace and listen to some live music while you sip on some of the best martinis and cocktails that Northeastern PA has to offer. Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway
The Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway is located in an adorable town called Jim Thorpe. This town has beautiful Victorian architecture up and down the streets. You can park your car and walk up the main street to explore the bookstores, homemade pickle shops, beef jerky shops, old fashioned candy shops and more! The scenery you will experience here is beautiful during any of our four seasons, although the fall season will provide you with breathtaking foliage. This little town is known as “The Switzerland of America.” Once you explore the little shops, make your way to the railway. You’ll have the choice to sit in an open-air or closed car. The century-old coach cars are powered by diesel engines, and take you on a 70-minute long relaxing ride through the Lehigh Gorge State Park. The trains run from February through December. Hickory Run State Park
Hickory Run State Park is home to an enigma known as Boulder Field (PDF). Boulder field is just that, a giant field of boulders. It’s 400 feet wide, 1,800 feet long and about 10 feet deep. The boulders are a result of melted glaciers from the Ice age. Hickory Run State Park as more than 40 miles of hiking trails, and miles of trout streams. You can easily spend an entire day exploring this fascinating State Park! Pack yourself a picnic and take in the fresh mountain air and surround yourself with the stunning colors of the fall season. Roba Family Farm
Roba Family Farm is known as “Your family’s scenic and premiere destination for outdoor family fun in Northeastern Pennsylvania”. They celebrate the fall season from mid-September through October 31st. Family’s get together to take in the beautiful fall colors and activities the farm has to offer. They have a huge corn maze, wagon rides, animals, pony rides and special events just to name a few. Be sure to grab yourself some of their famous cider donuts and apple cider slushies! They’re always a crowd favorite. You can buy tickets online too! Roba’s is less than 50 miles from both Woodfield and Snow Ridge village.
Reapers Revenge
Reapers Revenge is a well-known Haunted attraction in the Poconos. They’re open weekends starting the last week of September throughout October. They have over 65 acres of sinister action, terrifying woods and attractions to explore. There are different themed zones with thrills and chills around every turn. This is a must-see attraction for those of you who are searching for the perfect scare! Prepare yourself for a night of screams and terrifying fun! They are located less than 50 miles from both the Woodfield Manor and Snow Ridge Village.
Bushkill Falls
Bushkill Falls is known as “The Niagara of Pennsylvania.” The falls cover about 300 acres and is known as one of the state’s most scenic attractions. There are eight waterfalls you can hike to, which will not disappoint in providing amazing views of the falls and surrounding wooded area. You can enjoy mini golf, paddle boats, fishing, and more! Tickets can be purchased at the entrance building which is also home to the wildlife exhibit! The trails start at the back of the building, and they close between 5:00pm and 6:00pm. Knoebels Amusement Park
This amusement park opened on July 4th, 1926 and is “Americas Largest Free-Admission Amusement Park”. Not only is the admission into the park free, but the parking is free too! This family-owned amusement park has won many different awards, including the “World’s Best Wooden Coaster” (the Phoenix), the world’s best carousel (which was purchased in 1941) and the best amusement park food and much more! The Travel channel also rated Knoebels as one of the top 10 family Friendly Amusement Parks in the United States. This is a place where you can make new memories, the old-fashioned way! Knoebels is located less than 80 miles from Woodfield Manor and about 65 miles from Snow Ridge Village.
Knoebels Hallo-Fun Weekends are held on Friday, Saturday and Sundays in October. This is when the park is transformed into a haunted attraction. It’s a spooktacular event for all ages with frights that come in all shapes and sizes.
Mount Airy Golf Club and Casino
Mount Airy Casino is home to the ‘Mount Airy Golf Club’. The club opened in 1980 and is like no other course you’ve ever played at. It has 6,500 yards of fairways and is designed after Sports Illustrated “Best 18 holes in Golf.” Each hole is designed after golf’s most legendary holes from Championship courses in America. The holes include Pebble Beach, Oakland Hills, Merion, Agusta National to name just a few. After playing golf, you can enjoy the casino and hopefully win big! ‘Mount Airy Casino’ has over 70 different table games and 1,800 slots at the tip of your fingers! It’s conveniently located less than 3 miles away from Woodfield Manor and less than 25 miles from Snow Ridge Village.
Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark
Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark has 125,000 square feet with everything you would want in an indoor waterpark. They have a few swim up bars, 13 water slides, a wave pool, an interactive toddler play area, a lazy river, 170,000 square feet of indoor games, 365 days of indoor/outdoor adventure and a 0% chance at staying dry. Did you know this is the home of the Storm Chaser Water Coaster? It’s the longest indoor water coaster in the world! Here you can eat, shop and chill. You can purchase day tickets online for a quick arrival process. The best part about this indoor waterpark in my opinion is the transparent roof, which allows sunlight to reach you. You could possibly leave the Winter weather with a tan! It’s a beautiful 84 degrees year-round inside. This indoor waterpark is only 3 miles from Woodfield Manor and about 25 miles from Snow Ridge Village.

Snow Ridge Village
Snow Ridge Village, located in Blakeslee, Pennsylvania is the place to stay and play in the Pocono’s! Although Woodfield has gone through some changes over the years, one thing seems to remain, the spirit of a woman.
For decades employees and travelers have reported seeing and hearing some strange things inside the manor. Sundance Vacations sat down with former Manager Keith and also spoke to some current employees to try and get to the bottom of these, “ghost stories.” Check out the video below of the haunting accounts.
A few years ago the managers of the manor had a team of paranormal experts come in and conduct an investigation. The paranormal team was unable to come to any conclusive findings, but the fact remains that many people have had experiences within the walls of Woodfield Manor.
