#3 – The Library Hotel, New York

Another bizarre hotel on the Sundance Vacations list will inspire your inner Scott Fitzgerald. The Library Hotel in New York City draws its inspiration from the Dewey Decimal System, the popular library classification scheme. Each of the guestroom floors is dedicated to one of the 10 categories of the system. The rooms correspond and are devoted to the subcategory of their floor. A room on the seventh floor, for example, one room is dedicated to the Fine Arts, is dedicated to Music while another is dedicated to Photography. Guests at The Library Hotel have access to a collection of over 6,000 books. The 14th floor is home to the Writer’s Den and Poetry Garden with amazing views of New York City by day and great cocktails at the Bookmarks Lounge by night.

#4 – Dog Bark Park Inn, Idaho

Also making the ranks of Sundance Vacations’ collection of peculiar hotels is the Dog Bark Park Inn. Located in Cottonwood, Idaho, the Inn is home to the ‘’world’s biggest beagle’’. That’s right, beagle as in the dog. The hotel is comprised of Sweet Willy, a two story beagle and his 12-foot tall companion, Toby. Dennis and Frances, a married couple who are chainsaw artists and own the Inn, created the structures.  Dog Bark Park Inn pays tribute to classic American roadside architecture prevalent in the early days of road trip vacations. In addition to the main attraction of Sweet Willy, there are over 60 different carvings representing various breeds of dogs.
