Sundance Vacations is happy to have Upstate New York on our list of awesome destinations. Nestled in the Finger Lakes region of the Empire State, this location is great all-year round.
One of the main attractions that draws people to this area is its affinity towards wine making. This area has become quite the destination for food and drink lovers as well as people who love wines, beers and spirits. With seven distilleries, 15 Breweries and over 60 wineries in the area, it becomes clear why.
When it comes to cooking, wine can not only be paired with a dish to make for the perfect meal, but that meal itself can be cooked using wine. Helping to cook and simmer your food, you can add wine to dishes you’re cooking in a skillet on the stove, in a slow cooker or in the oven. Simmered along with the food, it adds flavor and moisture to whatever dish you’re making, thus making your food taste even better! Since the Finger Lakes region is so well known for its wine, we figured that this would be the perfect place to inspire a dish for our new recipe series!
Our Sundance Vacations Travel Inspired Recipe for Chicken in White Wine Sauce is a perfect dish to serve with your favorite rice, potatoes or light pasta. The fact that the chicken is cooked with white wine will amplify the flavor and make your chicken super tender! Total prep time for this dish is about 10 minutes and cooking will take about 40 minutes, this recipe will net you four servings.
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 4 (4 ounce) boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup dry white wine
- 4 teaspoons grated Parmesan cheese
Start by preheating the oven to 350. Combine flour, salt, paprika and black pepper ingredients in a shallow dish. Dredge chicken in flour mixture.
Next heat the oil in an ovenproof skillet over medium heat. Add chicken; cook 2 minutes on each side or until browned. Add broth and wine and bring to a boil; then remove from heat. Cover and bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until chicken is done. Sprinkle with cheese and your favorite herbs before serving. Enjoy!
