Several different online guidebooks document the best stops to explore. The Overseas Highway, Florida
Ever imagined what it would be like to drive on water? The Overseas Highway may be the closest thing we have so far! This 113-mile structure runs through the Florida Keys to Key West, and includes several stops in Miami. Get spectacular views of long stretches of cobalt blue oceans with access to coral reefs on this drive. If you’re looking for a unique experience on your next trip to Florida, this is a different type of travel experience that you should try at least once!
Bluebonnet Trail, Texas
Throughout the month of April, you can experience over 40-miles of charted driving through the Bluebonnet Trails in Ennis, Texas. Take in the many shades of blue and the adjoining sights and scents of the local flora and fauna as you journey through the oldest trails in the state of Texas. If you’re interested, you’ll have to visit these outstretched fields in person, as the pictures online don’t capture the true beauty of the trails!
Kancamagus Highway, New Hampshire
Try saying this one five times fast. Kancamagus Highway (or Scenic Byway) is located in northern New Hampshire. Fall is the best time of year to travel down this route through the White Mountain National Forest, as it’s known as one of the best fall foliage viewing areas in the country. As stated on the Kancamagus Highway website, you’ll soak in the sights of the White Mountains, the Swift River, Sabbaday Falls, Lower Falls, and Rocky Gorge. This drive will take you right into the heart of untouched nature.
Highway 101, California
U.S. Route 101 stretches from Los Angeles, California to Turnwater, Washington and provides knockout views of the West Coast for 790-plus-miles! Take a dip in a lagoon or get some quality shopping done when you stop in Carlsbad Village, which is only a few short steps away from Highway 101. Take in the towering redwood trees and expanses of white, sandy beaches. There’s so much to see and do while traveling down this rowdy route!
