A chic shopping district with much to offer! Need some new threads? There’s no shortage of stores to choose from. Rolling Back Boutique, Zoolikins, and Vintage by Misty are some of our favorite spots to score fashionable clothing and sweet deals. All that walking can work up an appetite, though. There are over 80 restaurants available, so you’re sure to find something that suits your tastebuds. There are also numerous coffee and juice shops, tap rooms, and ice cream parlors. Beginning in November, events like the Old Town Scottsdale Farmers Market, Canal Convergence, and the Day of the Dog Festival will be taking place. Be sure to check the dates to plan into your vacation schedule accordingly!

Scottsdale’s Museum of the West

A Smithsonian affiliate, Scottsdale’s Museum of the West allows visitors to step back in time to experience the spirit of the wild west. Current main exhibitions include Women of the West, Rails Building America, and Canvas of Clay, just to name a few. From October 19th, 2022 to April 30th, 2023, a featured display, Light and Legacy: The Art and Techniques of Edward S. Curtis, will be ongoing. The museum is open from Tuesday – Sunday and ticket prices vary depending on the day and time of attendance. They range from $18 to $20 for regular admission days and $30+ for special events. If you’re a fan of American history, this is a great learning opportunity to add to your list.

Though the green is the training ground for the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Colorado Rockies in the spring, many fun events fill the field in the fall and winter! If you like to fill your vacation with plenty of action and activities, the upcoming events at the Salt River Fields will add a dash of excitement to your trip! October events include the Spooktacular Hot Air Balloon Festival, Salt & Lime Fiesta, and Yoga in the Outfield. Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center

If you frequently read our blogs, you know we love to mention zoos and animal encounter experiences as often as possible, so we knew we had to add the Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center to our list! This sanctuary promotes conservation and education as part of its mission. Coatimundis, great horned owls, and Mexican gray wolves are only some of the furry mammals that you’ll come across during your visit. If you fall in love with a particular critter, you can sponsor an animal through the Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center’s website. Sponsoring an animal or a nursery baby will ensure that the animal receives the necessary food and care. This is a great vacation gift ideas for the animal lover in your life!
