Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Myrtle Beach is also known as “Golf Town USA” and the Grand Strand is the number one golf destination in America, with more than eighty different courses to enjoy. You’ll experience diverse terrain from tidal creeks and low country layouts, to salt marshes and links along some of the most beautiful scenery there is. The temperature in Myrtle Beach is ideal too, with spring temperatures in the 70s. The Grand Strand also offers you different courses for every budget. Some might even say it’s the “supermarket of golf.”

Where to Play

Caledonia

Built on the former site of a working southern rice plantation, Caledonia Golf & Fish Club is currently ranked No. 84 on Golf Magazine’s list of Top 100 You Can Play. With waste bunkers, wetlands and undulating greens, it keeps big hitters honest. The 6,526-yard, par-70 course has been described as having “18 signature holes”, with holes routed around majestic oaks and winding streams.

Dunes Golf and Beach Club

The Dunes Golf and Beach Club features fiercely trapped, elevated greens, wrecking water holes, and is spearheaded by “Waterloo,” a 590-yard, par-5 13th that goes 110 degrees to the right around Singleton Lake. The course was recently closed, as all greens were being re-grassed and minor renovations are made to bunkers and tees. Dunes Golf and Beach Club stands as a “Top 100 Golf Course” in virtually every major magazine ranking. The club has played host to many PGA Tours, senior PGA tours, women’s, amateur, national, and state events. Celebrities have played here, and you can too!

True Blue

With more of a links-style setting, the True Blue Golf Club is ranked No. 28 of Top 100 Golf Courses. Having holes that are framed by mounds of large waste areas, True Blue is par 72 with 5 par 5s. The rolling terrain and native vegetation of this once thriving indigo and rice plantation makes a really great setting for golf. This course also boasts about it’s 18-acre practice facility which is home to The Steve Dresser Golf Academy.

Myrtle Beach National

The three courses available at the Myrtle Beach National are the best-of-the-best with their signature course designs that are inspired by Arnold Palmer! This location offers several of the Grand Strand’s most memorable holes in golf.

The West Course is carved through the Carolina pines and provides you with a backdrop of nature. The traditional layout and design offers fairways, Bermuda grass, and provides the perfect golf experience for any skill level. All the par- 4s play under 400 yards from the middle-back tees, and par-5s are possible to reach in two.

The King’s North course features 18 holes of the most dramatic and picturesque landscape you’ll come across. The par-5 6th hole is nicknamed “The Gambler” and offers a “risk-reward” shortcut to the green. The par-3, island green 12th hole creates an interesting challenge.  A miss to the right, and you’ll land in water, a miss to the left side could land you in the “SC” bunkers. Just wait for the exhilarating finish!

South Creek is an Arnold Palmer signature designed course and is a fan-favorite. It’s the shortest of the three courses at Myrtle Beach National. It features the dramatic par-5 10th hole that wraps around a large lake. The par-4 finishing hole measures 380-yards from the tips and plays as a dogleg with a steep-faced bunker fronting the green. This is a true test to your game.
