With South Carolina having over 360 golf courses to choose from, you can tell it would be hard to choose the best course. Having properties in Hilton Head and Myrtle Beach, we narrowed it down to some of the top favorable courses by those properties!
Hilton Head
Hilton Head Island has been a popular destination for vacationers since around 1960, but it wasn’t until 1969 that it gained popularity among golfers. In November of 1969 the PGA Tour held a tournament at Harbor Town Golf Links and it was an immediate success, and giving it its popularity!
With having 24 on-island championship golf courses, and over 40 courses in the Hilton Head Island it’s not a surprise that it’s still just as popular.
Shipyard Golf Club
You won’t need to venture too far to find an amazing golf course. This course is packed with twenty-seven holes of spectacular golfing. It’s settled in the stunning Hilton Heads natural Carolina pine trees, blooming magnolias and mossy oak trees. This course is sure to offer a memorable experience that’s fun for the entire family. Harbour Town Golf Links
If you’re a fan of the PGA Tour I’m sure you saw and remember the red-and-white striped lighthouse that backdrops the 18th green at from annual PGA Tour event.
Harbor Town Golf Links isn’t just popular because the tour or lighthouse, but the course itself!
The 18th hole is one of the “must-play” holes in golf, with a 460-yard par 4. Calibogue Sound is to the left of the entire hole is the, with trees, condos and the out-of-bounds to the right.
Harbor Town Golf Links is ranked No. 23 in Golf Digest; America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses for the public and has mesmerized the pros and tourist ever since. This Pete Dye/Jack Nicklaus collaboration delights and terrorizes golfers at every turn.

Heron Point by Pete Dye
A sibling layout to Harbour Town, from a 2007 extreme makeover of the island’s second-oldest track. The renovations were to make the course more player-friendly, and the result is an award-winning stroke of genius.
Golfers are still challenged by long and short holes, fairways that move toward and away from hazards and ubiquitous mounding and swales framing target areas.
Four holes are guarded by water, alternating wood and grass walls creating noticeable bulkheads, and visually dramatizing the peril.
Golf Digest’s rated it one of their “Best Places to Play” and South Carolina’s 2015 Golf Course of the Year, this cohabitation is poised for even more acclaim.

Atlantic Dunes by Davis Love lll
Atlantic Dunes is a complete reconstruction of The Sea Pines Resort’s historic Ocean Course, the first course built on Hilton Head.
Featuring a pronounced seaside ambiance and accented feeling by shells and seaside grass, it incorporates elements of the surrounding beachfront along with the area’s bounty of native pines and oaks lining the fairways.
Atlantic Dunes is both visually and strategically from the restoration of natural sand dunes, as well as the creation of new dunes that blend seamlessly into the design.

Robert Trent Jones Course
The Robert Trent Jones Oceanfront Course is widely renowned for its open, inviting layout and spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean. The Jones Course challenges golfers of every skill level, making it a must-play layout.
With the sweeping ocean views, the par-5 10th hole stands apart as one of the region’s most breathtaking golf experiences. The much-loved course offers wide fairways, expansive greens, challenging bunkers and subtle elevation changes. Due to the course being wide open, it makes every hole play differently whenever the winds change.

George Fazio Course
Having the only par-70 public golf course, it was named the 2014 South Carolina Golf Course of the Year by the SC Golf Course Owners Association.
Golfers especially enjoy the challenge of the fabulous finishing four holes, the three well-bunkered par 4s and the great par-3 17th over water with out-of-bounds creeping in from the left. With new state-of-the-art Diamond Zoysia greens, the Fazio Course delivers a peak golf experience. With relatively small greens and undulating surfaces, the Fazio course challenges and delights golfers.

Arthur Hills
Due to the continuous lines of dunes, a rolling layout, numerous water hazards and thick stands of palmettos, this course emphasizes accuracy and precision over distance, providing challenges at every turn.

Myrtle Beach
With over 100 golf courses in Myrtle Beach, you can see why some call it the supermarket of golf. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced golfer you’ll have a course you can work with.
Caledonia
Built on the former site of a working southern rice plantation, Caledonia is Currently ranked No. 77 on Golf Digest; America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses. With waste bunkers, wetlands and undulating greens, it keeps big hitters honest.
The 6,526-yard, par-70 course has been described as having “18 signature holes,” with holes routed around majestic oaks and meandering streams.

Dunes Golf and Beach Club
Dunes features fiercely trapped, elevated greens, wrecking water holes, and is spearheaded by “Waterloo,” a 590-yard, par-5 13th that goes 110 degrees to the right around Singleton Lake. The course was closed this June, July and August as all greens were being re-grassed and minor renovations are made to bunkers and tees.
Dunes Golf and Beach Club stands as a “Top 100 Golf Course” in virtually every major magazine ranking. The Club has played host to many PGA Tours, Senior PGA Tours, Women’s, Amateur, National, and State events.

With more of a links-style setting, True Blue is ranked No. 28 on Top 100 Golf Courses. Having holes framed by mounds and large waste areas, True Blue is a par 72 with five par 5s.
The rolling terrain and native vegetation of this once thriving indigo and rice plantation give a great setting for golf. The course also boasts an 18-acre practice facility, which is home to the The Steve Dresser Golf Academy.

Myrtle Beach National
This golf course is sure to please with 54 holes of championship golfing available. The three courses available at Myrtle Beach National boast to be the best of the best with their signature course designs inspired by Arnold Palmer.
The West course is ranked 4.5 STARS in 2010 by Golf Digest’s “Places to Play.
King’s North was listed as Golf Digest’s “America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses in 2004 and Golf Digest’s “Places to Play” awarded the course 4.5 stars ever since!
South Creek is an Arnold Palmer signature designed course and is a fan favorite.

TPC Myrtle Beach
This difficult 18-hole, par 72 course is pretty famous! Lenny Wadkins, Tom Watkins, Lee Trevino, Gary Player and many more golf legends have played this complex course. This resort is open to the public and you won’t want to skip this course. You will experience PGA Tour-caliber golf. With an outstanding putting green, grass driving range and chipping green, its easy to understand why the Touring professionals come here for practice. Keep an eye out for those legends to be playing alongside you!

Barefoot Resort (Love)
The Love Course at Barefoot Resort is a traditional course with a Lowcountry character and incorporates Davis Love III’s Carolina golfing experiences in the design. The turtleback greens and chipping areas, along with re-created plantation house along five holes on the front nine and wide open fairways make for a memorable game.
This visually striking course features course generous landing areas and greens complexes. The Love Course is a Par 72 and plays over 7,000 yards, and will challenge a good player, but still provide enjoyment for the average player.
